For the past few years, Cranbrook’s Union Windmill has sat on the edge of town without its sails (or sweeps as we call them in these parts).
Finally, the repair and restoration work was complete and over a few days, the sweeps were reattached and I was there to capture each stage as the small crew of craftsmen put it all back together.
In order to get the best view of the proceedings, I popped the drone up to get a less obstructed birdseye view of the reconstruction. It was a nice calm few days and the drone had no wind issues (neither did the crane!) so I was pretty pleased with the images.
