If you like waterfalls, and let’s face it, most photographers do! Then there are few places in the Southern half of the United Kingdom that have more to offer than south Wales, and Brecon (I believe it correctly called Bannau Brycheiniog) in particular.

We visited in July 2023 and there hadn’t been much rain, so the waterfalls had considerably less flow than I had experienced on my previous visit but they still looked beautiful.

This was my first visit to Sgwd Sychryd and although it is a little tricky to climb down to, it was certainly a beautiful place that I would love to revisit in autumn.

As well as waterfalls, South Wales has a multitude of photogenic locations.

We travelled around as much as we could and visited both the coast and the mountains as well as a Kite feeding station – a great place to get some close up shots of these beautiful birds.
