The forecast looked promising, so I set my alarm, woke up early and arrived at Fairfield on Romney Marsh around an hour before sunset to see if I could bag some dawn images of St Thomas a Becket Church.
The frost was thick on the ground and the drainage ditches were frozen at the edges. As the sky began to brighten to the east I scouted around for potential angles and set up my camera for the first shot. As the light increased, the layer of high cloud above me caught the light of the sun which was still below the horizon and set off a pretty spectacular lightship which continued for a good half hour. I was able to get plenty of lovely shots and even get the drone up to grab a few images from a different angle.
A beautiful, if rather chilly, morning which I will remember for a long time.
