A recent shoot for a smartphone photography website (www.smartphonefilmpro.com) saw me shooting both environmental portraits with a model using the subject of the shoot, an iPhone gimbal and also some low-key studio based shots of the gimbal.
It was a particularly sunny day so for the environmental shots, I directed the model to use the shade of some trees to help avoid the harsh sunlight while angling the shots to avoid distractions in the background such as people. The subject of the shoot was, of course, the gimbal and not the model who was sometimes thrown out of focus to bring attention to the gimbal itself.
The studio shots were just a simple one-light set-up on a black reflective surface, using a low-key style which worked well to show off the texture of the monochromatic surfaces of the gimbal.
