'Golden Hour' on Brighton pier
Brighton Royal Pavilion

We headed off to spend a day in Brighton, the summer is drawing to a close and the days are getting shorter so we needed to make as much of the days we had left.

Half way through the day the gulls started to flock, presumably as there was a storm threatening to soak us. It certainly rained but once the clouds had emptied themselves, they blew away leaving the sky ripe for a splendid sunset. I didn’t know which way to turn, to my left was the pier bathed in beautiful light and to my right, a spectacular sunset – I must have looked quite odd almost pirouetting with a camera in my hand!
