Pirate Day in Hastings is always something that I look forward to. So many people really throw themselves into the day putting a great deal of effort into their outfits. There’s always a great atmosphere and when the weather is kind, it’s a great family day out.
This year was no exception, great weather, lots of awesome pirates and plenty of people milling around having a fun time. There were a few bands playing ‘pirate’ music and Old Town was full to bursting with both pirates and onlookers.
The day starts with a procession through the town but the best part as far as I am concerned, is after the organised part of the day dissipates and everyone is just milling around showing off their outfits. I didn’t meet a single person that wasn’t up for having their photo taken, so this year, I took lots!
