We set off toward Loughborough for a Saturday full of rock n roll shenanigans at this year’s Download FestivalĀ at Castle Donnington Raceway.
First up, we watched a band called Bottom Line, a fun, young pop-punk band then we set of to see Asking Alexandria via Powerflo and then the Von Hertzen Brothers. After a spot of Thunder, Monster Truck, The Struts and Black Stone Cherry, it was time for the main event as Guns n Roses performed a three hour set comprising many of their big hits plus a few lengthy guitar solo spots, clearly devised to allow Axl to rest his voice and change his outfit.
The weather was great and the crowd were fun. We spent most of the day right near the front of all of the crowds and (eventually) drove home exhausted but very entertained.
Roll on next year
