Eastbourne Airbourne 2018 was set to take place over 4 days this year, Thursday was pretty much rained off, Friday was a work day, Sunday had lots of dropouts due to poor weather but Saturday, our chosen day pretty much went without a hitch, The Vampire didn’t make it due to technical difficulties but everything else (with the exception of a blue sky) was present and correct.
The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight was great to see with both a Hurricane and a Spitfire flanking the ever impressive Lancaster bomber across Eastbourne seafront and the Red Arrows always put on a great show but once again, the sheer volume and speed of the Tornado stole the show for me this year. Quite tricky to get a shot of, as it hurtled about in front of the crowd. The Tornado has firmly cemented my desire to visit the Mach Loop next year.
We were lucky to have picked the best day of the weekend but it still took a while to get out of Eastbourne after the show was over, maybe we won’t rush to get away next time!
