It’s late February and snow is looming on the weather forecasts but today the sun is out and there isn’t a cloud in the sky – it was time to head to the coast. We wrapped up warm and headed off to Hastings where I was, of course, instantly drawn to the pier to take some images. The tide was a lot further out than I had seen it in recent visits so there seemed to be a lot of extra beach to shoot, but being February, the beaches weren’t crowded at all.
We headed up on to the pier for a coffee and I decided to try a long-exposure of the deck, in an attempt to eliminate the few people that were wandering about. After a few attempts, I was quite happy with my results so we drank up and set off for the Old Town.
It was evident that Hastings was getting itself ready for the 2018 summer season, and with some recent improvements to the buildings looking quite spectacular in the sparkling winter sun, Hastings was looking pretty good.
