There looked like a fair chance of a sunset, so, armed with a wide-angle lens and a tripod, I set off for Bodiam to let the gnats have a good meal on my flesh.
As the sun neared the horizon, it became apparent that the large cloud sitting there was going to try and spoil my fun. I think maybe the act of picking up my camera, prevents any chance of a colourful sunset. Is it a curse?
I lapped the castle a couple of times looking for compositions and other than the standard ‘down the bridge’ option, I was quite happy with the effect of long exposure clouds creating a nice frame and leading lines towards the castle.
Maybe I didn’t get awesome light, but I got a couple of nice pics, had a pleasant stroll and gave the gnats a treat.
