Before checking in to our accommodation in Lulworth, we decided to visit Portland. We started off at the lighthouse where the light wasn’t too bad – thankfully at this time of year, the sun doesn’t really get very high in the sky. However, when I walked around to Pulpit rock, the composition I wanted was backlit but I still think it worked out OK – but I avoided the chance to climb on top for a selfie – this time!

The view of Chesil Beach from higher up on Portland was nice but not amazing, maybe with a sunset behind it would be a different story but I was more interested in the mass of rooftops rather than the views beyond.

Definitely a worthwhile stop but perhaps, next time, it will be worth visiting when the light is a little more interesting.
